北海道上士幌町嶋木遺跡発掘調査（第４次）のご案内

このたび当研究室では，昨年に引き続き，上士幌町教育委員会など関係諸機関のご協力のもと，北海道上士幌町嶋木遺跡の発掘調査を下記のとおり実施することとなりました．
嶋木遺跡は，1969年の報告以来，数次の発掘調査が実施され，およそ2万年前のシベリアと連絡する石器群として位置づけがなされている重要な遺跡です．今回の調査では，昨年度の調査区を北に拡張し新たな石器集中の確認，遺跡の年代決定，埋没後擾乱の評価，およびそれらを基礎とした文化形成過程の復元等を目的とします．
今回の調査は，平成25年度日本学術振興会科学研究費助成事業（基盤（B））「環日本海北部地域の最終氷期最盛期における人類社会の形成と変化（研究課題番号：24320157）」（研究代表者：出穂雅実），および2013年度日本第四紀学会研究委員会「最終氷期最盛期における北東アジアの生態系変遷と人類の応答」（代表者：出穂雅実）の研究プロジェクトの一環として，首都大学東京・セントラルワシントン大学（アメリカ）・ノヴォシビルスク州立大学（ロシア）の合同調査実習の一環として実施します．
